Watches? Aren't they a bit like ruffs, pinces-nez and codpieces?

Re: Rolex
Wurzel the exact watch I’m wearing right now, only 44mm so not one of the monsters Vexed is talking about but love it. Got 8 different straps and looks a different watch with each one on so very versatile.

I also have a Rolex Deep Sea and a two tone Daytona Paul Newman a and the Panerai is by far my favourite.

Surprisingly comfortable to wear Vex.

Re: Rolex
I fucking hate Panerai. Ugly and a bit cheap looking in my opinion. Plus you have to have a monster wrist to actually have one fit properly.

Re: Rolex
I'd rather have a Panerai Luminor

Re: Rolex
In have one of the smaller simplers ones. Silver with blue face. It's really nice and not autentious.

I'll be honest I boughgt it pre-owned for 3K. New its 8K.

Even I think its too much to spend on a watch.

I also have a Breitling my old man left me on his death bed 2 years ago> Thing is I can't bring myself to wear it. So I gave it to my son.

Rolex watches are for flash Hatty types who can't wait to impress fellow shallow bores.

All a bit ostentatious to the likes of meer me.seeing that nowadays most have a mobile phone to tell the exact time.
I"d wager Sullivan's kids sport Rolex watches the wankers.

Decent is not exactly a glowing endorsement.

Did you see what I did there?

Just ordered an explorer ii myself. I’ve preferred Omegas to this point. Speedmaster is off being serviced.

Fine if you've recently had the watch in the light, not so good if it's been in the dark for an hour or two..

I've got a Casio GW-M5610-1ER G shock, best watch I've ever had.

Vexed 4:51 Sat Mar 10
Re: Rolex
Apart from that lume they put on all watches so you can see them in the dark?

Re: Rolex
Sad thing for me these days, is what I really want from a watch is a light in it. Mostly so when I'm in the cinema or a theatre and I want to see how long before I can leave, it is easy to do so.

The Swiss aren't so well known for building that actually useful into their watches...

I find mine is very useful when I'm in Marks and Sparks, tells me what the time is in Tokyo and how many feet I am above sea level, wouldn't be with it!!!

Re: Rolex
My old man has a submariner from 1967 (got it for his 21st) He says he has worn it about 10 times in total and is still in pristine condition in the box with receipts and certificates.

He won't sell as it was a present from his late Mum and Dad (my grandparents) Lovely looking thing which I will no doubt inherit (and won't sell)
